DEBI SHAPIRO PHOTOGRAPHY
“Flowers are living art, constantly changing and my daily inspiration.”
Debi Shapiro sees flowers as living art — ever changing, fleeting, and full of emotion. Her passion for photography began at sixteen with her first camera and led to studies in fabric design and photography at Syracuse University.
After decades working alongside a renowned fashion photographer in New York City, she turned her lens to flowers, blending a fashion photographer’s eye with a painter’s sense of detail.
Inspired by the Dutch Golden Age, early classical botanical engravings, and Georgia O’Keeffe’s sensual flowers, Debi’s Floral Portraits celebrate the quiet, radiant beauty of flowers as they unfold and transform.
Her book, Beauty in Bloom: Floral Portraits, is a love letter to flowers, capturing their fragile yet resilient beauty in radiant detail.
“With every floral portrait I create, I’ve come to realize that life is a journey of transformation and fleeting moments — from bud to delicate decay.”
